The goal of Career Ready Greater Lehigh Valley is simple: Provide students in grades kindergarten through twelve with meaningful career exploration and planning experiences so they are ready to make informed decisions about their future.
Simply stated, this platform connects educators and learners with workplace experiences through a streamlined and fast process:
1. Providers (e.g., businesses, nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, postsecondary institutions) register and create a profile that indicates which experiences they are able to offer students.
2. Teachers and counselors search for experiences as needed. (High school students may also search for independent job shadows and internships.)
3. The schools’ designated point of contact messages their request to the providers’ designated point of contact through the platform; email addresses are not shared. The provider either accepts or declines the request.
Many stakeholders benefit from the Career Ready Greater Lehigh Valley platform:
· Providers and educators spend less time coordinating work-based learning experiences for students.
· Providers have increased opportunities to engage with their future talent pipeline.
· Students are more deeply engaged in learning that directly aligns with their interests and aspirations.
· High school graduates save time and money by making better-informed decisions about their next steps.
· The regional economy and community realize a better prepared workforce.
